Pedestrian Dies after Being Dragged in Hit-and-run Car Crash

A pedestrian who was believed to be a victim of hit-and-run car crash and was dragged for about 25 feet died after sustaining severe injuries.

According to reports, the unidentified pedestrian who was possibly skateboarding at the time of the accident was found critically injured at around 3:48 in the morning last Friday near Golden Lantern and Marina Hills Drive in Laguna Niguel, California.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Initial investigations revealed that the pedestrian was hit by a car and was subsequently dragged for several feet while the suspect was trying to flee from the scene.

Meanwhile, authorities are currently conducting further investigation to figure out what exactly happened. They are also searching for possible witnesses who could provide any information regarding the identity of the suspected hit-and-run driver.

Meanwhile, deputies suspected that the vehicle that was abandoned a quarter mile away from the accident scene was the vehicle that struck and dragged the man. However, the driver of the said vehicle is not yet located or identified.

Hit-and-run is considered a criminal case in which a suspect can be punished by imprisonment. Other than that, some severe legal consequences also await the offender such as cancellation of driver’s license and payment of monetary fines.  Moreover, in cases of hit-and-run incidents, insurance companies often nullify the policy of the drivers involved.

In this event, it is a clear case of a hit-and-run car crash. Obviously, the driver of the vehicle who struck the pedestrian could face serious charges that could send him behind bars. As always, a Los Angeles car crash attorney reminds drivers that in such cases of car crashes, as much as possible, one should never leave the scene until authorities have arrived to avoid more serious charges.

  1. Unbelievably sad that this person ended up dying after a hit-and-run. Hopefully justice is eventually served. I think the point you made about never leaving the scene is extremely important. When this individual is caught, they will face a much more severe punishment. As hard as it is, he should have stayed to find out if the person was ok- and may have been able to save the person's life. Hopefully this person's family hires an accident compensation lawyer because although money won't bring their loved one back- it will help get them through such a tough time and give them time to recover.
